Six booked for attack on cop in Rajouri, four arrested | KNO

Jammu, January 27 (KNO) : Six persons have been booked by police for attack on a police party in Rajouri town ward number 8 and four among the accused have also been arrested. Officials told KNO that on 27th of January, a specific information was received by police team that some suspects are present inside the house of one Farooq Ahmed son of Abdul Rasheed resident of ward number 08 (old ward number 10) in Rajouri town. Acting on this information, a team of police headed by Incharge Police Post Rajouri city, SI Danish Maqbool was rushed to the spot and shop was raided. The owner of shop Farooq Ahmed fled from there and entered his house located nearby after which his family members came out and started to disrupt the entry of cops to avert his arrest and thereafter attacked the cops with some of the family members pelting stones over them from the roof of the house. Due to such sudden attack and stone pelting, cops on duty had a narrow escape of life with some of them also received stones on body. Reinforcement headed by SHO Rajouri Ajaz Haider and DySP HQrs Govind Rattan was rushed to the spot and situation was brought under control. Taking note of this a case FIR 43/2019 under sections 353, 336, 147 RPC has been registered in police station Rajouri and six members of the family identified as Farooq Ahmed son of Abdul Rasheed, Arshad Ahmed son of Abdul Rasheed, Hanifa Begum wife of Abdul Rasheed, Fareeda Begum wife of Imtiaz Ahmed, Mobeena wife of Shabir Ahmed, Shanaz Ahmed wife of Zaheer Ahmed have been booked in the case. Arshad Ahmed, Fareeda Begum, Mobeena and Shanaz have also been arrested while search of other two accused is also going on. Senior superintendent of police, Rajouri, Yougal Manhas has also constituted special teams to nab the other two accused. (KNO)
